I'm sure these have been asked before, but I've forgotten the answers!

1. How long does it typically take to be approved for graduation once the quarter is over (assuming everything goes smoothly)?
2. How long does it take for them to cancel your email account once you've graduated?

Thanks!

Tickets are avaliable here and they seem to be going fast. You can also view a flyer here!

We'd love to see you there and the Edwardian Ball is a blast! Let us know if you have any questions we can answer.

FINALS! Let's procrastinate with Anonymous Confessions!

You know the drill. Tell us your deepest darkest secrets, but make sure they're anonymous. No one will know who you are, so your secrets will be safe. Go crazy. Be brutally honest, or make up a story that sounds legitimate but your friends would be horrified to hear you speak. (You know, the one with the hooker down on Ocean St, and the brush with the cops.... j/k, unless that's really true) You've had all summer to get into embarrassing situations, share with us so we can refreshrefreshresfresh the page instead of completing our theses.

Anonymous posting is on because no one bothered to turn it off after the last anon con, lol.

Ready....go!

Hi, I'm the writer/director of a new musical opening in SF, and we're having open auditions tomorrow between 11am-3pm at the Thick House on portreto Hill! You can visit the show's website for a detailed synopsis and to hear the demo. I'm looking for four men and four women for the cast, who want to take part in bring a new theatrical piece to life.

And it's a paid gig, how about that! )

Hi all, I am interested in trying Ethiopian food within San Francisco but I'm allergic to wheat flour. I know most restaurants will make their injera the traditional way, with only teff, but I don't know how to tell which ones are guaranteed not to use wheat flour. Does anyone have a recommendation for a restaurant that they know doesn't use wheat? Thanks.

So I've decided to move to San Francisco in January!
I'm thrilled... I've been hankering to make a home out West for almost a year.
I know absolutely no one, and so far I have no leads on a job or place to live.
I'm a kids yoga teacher, raw vegan chef, nutritionist, Reiki Master, jeweler, exotic dancer, wanderer, worshipper, mover, shaker, cowboy, Quaker... etc.

If anyone knows of a cheap room or studio for rent near downtown, or of a great place that's hiring (raw/vegan and/or "new-agey" environment preferred) or would like to put me up for a bit when I get there in exchange for some great company while I search for those things in person, let me know! E-mail me jilive00{at}yahoo{dot}com.

I can't wait to get out there and meet you all! Blessings!

Anyone have experience with the berkeley free clinic? Know it's still up and running (I read about the budget cuts, that's ominous.)? Any other free medical clinics in the bay area, the closer to oakland the better, but berkeley and san fran can be traveled to. My friend actually has insurance, required by her school, but there's a $750 deductible and she doesn't have money for food or the bus next week not to mention medical charges applied to her deductible. Not sure what happened but her finger is painful, swollen, and discolored. She thinks it's infected and needs to be lanced. And she needs a place she can get that done (or get it looked at and get antibiotics, or something) for as little money as possible considering she has $12 in the bank. Any ideas/assistance is greatly appreciated.

I am thankful for the patience of my partner who has born my almost two-week illness in stride and continues to make me soup and tea and clean my handkerchiefs and just in general puts up with my grumpy whiny ass. I am also thankful this quarter is almost, almost over. And that my aunt is coming to visit next week, along with an old friend from Vermont. Yay for visits and old friends.

I have one Strong Lite Massage Table plus bolster plus fitted linens (including fitted headrest linens) for sale in Oakland. Originally bought for $500 on CL, I'm willing to sell it for $400. I'll even throw in a massage table rolling cart (which I bought for $80) for an additional $40

Let me know if you are interested in coming by and seeing the table.

Fish Rap Live!'s audio interview from inside the occupation.....

http://www.mediafire.com/?zlychzmyebg

Highlights:
The song of the occupation apparently was "We Are Your Friends" by Justice and SMD!
Various occupiers' opinions on prostitution!
Apparently very few occupiers have seen Across The Universe and/or A Cross The Universe!

But seriously, these are some jollies.

So the first and only time I bought a car was in 2001 and then I sold it in 2004 so I am very, very in need of solid advice about buying a used car. I'm on a budget and think that a Honda Fit would be the best car for me to get, but getting one with low mileage would mean going over my price range. (I'd like to ideally get something for around 10k.) I've heard that a Nissan Versa is sort of the poor man's Fit; as in that it's very similar to the Fit just slightly not as awesome and therefore cheaper. I have Zipcar right now and have really enjoyed driving the Versa over the Civic. (I have a bike and like how having a hatchback would mean not having to remove the front wheel.) My priorities are gas mileage and buying a car that has less than 50k on it; the first car I had back from '01-04 had a lot of miles on it and I don't want to deal with old-age issues that cars can get when they're over 100k. I'm looking for something reliable since I'll be using it to get to and from night school (Oakland to Berkeley). If anyone has had any fantastic experiences with specific dealers, I'd love to know about them. I'm concerned that my lack of car buying experience will cause me to get screwed over by a slimy dealer. And if anyone can shed light on whether or not it's a good idea to get an older Prius, that would be cool. It'd be great to get a hybrid since a lot of my driving needs don't involve the freeway but I wonder if there are risks on getting one of the older Priuses (or Priusi?). I'd be willing to pay up to 12k for a older hybrid if that's a more worthwhile way to go. My plan is to buy a car within the month to take advantage of year-end sales. (Are "year end" sales more awesome right before or right after New Year's by the way?) Anyway, thanks in advance for any help and patience with my obvious naivete on the subject!

Howdy Everyone!

This is a quick plug for a charity event that I am helping to put on as a part of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Since 2008, The Sisters have put on a monthly bingo to raise funds for various local charities. December's Bingo will be our last monthly bingo and we are hoping to end the run with a bang!

Click for more info... )

Wednesday, December 16th @ 7PM
The Green Room at the War Memorial Building
401 Van Ness Avenue
$30-40; 18+

This will truly be a night to remember. Help raise money for some very important Bay Area charities and possibly take home some money or prizes for yourself as well.

Blessings,
